OUR PROJECT
We are building Iceland's first
purpose-built studio complex. As the world's first fully sustainable filmmaking hub, Aurora will serve as a global focal point for demonstrating, testing and teaching green storytelling-greentech.
Working closely with the municipality of Hafnarfjordur, we are developing a 90,000 sq. meter parcel.
Scalable with phase 1 up and running in 2025.
LOCATION
Hafnarfjordur, the third largest municipality in Iceland, is perfectly situated for a studio. The local government is an enthusiastic supporter of the project.
Aurora studios will be located approximately 15-20 minutes drive to Reykjavík ́s city center and approximately 20 minutes to the airport.

KEEPING IT GREEN
Aurora will take sustainable filmmaking to the next level by pioneering an end-to-end zero-waste “green” methodology to storytelling that will serve as a global laboratory for best practices.
The creation of the world’s first Sustainable Filmmaking Institute as part of the studio campus will transform Aurora into a global destination for training and conferences. It will also open the doors to co-production partnerships with other countries that are demanding green solutions as part of their own production incentive schemes.
